Zimbabwe Electoral Commission Retains Gutu South Constituency Represented by President's Ally

Zimbabwe's Electoral Commission (Zec) has decided to retain the Gutu South constituency in the National Assembly, which is represented by Pupurai Togarepi, an ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. This decision comes after the constituency had initially collapsed in Zec's preliminary delimitation report.

The parliamentary ad hoc committee, chaired by Togarepi, had strongly condemned the collapse of the constituency and was appointed to analyze the report. Togarepi is also the Zanu-PF chief whip in the National Assembly.
